Grading & Land Leveling
Precise cut-and-fill, slope correction and building pad prep across North Georgia. We set the elevations first so every yard drains, plants and builds the way it should.
Overview
What grading really comes down to
Grading is the first thing we get right, because everything else depends on it. If the dirt slopes toward the house, pools in the low spots, or drops off too fast for grass to hold, no amount of sod or mulch on top will fix it. We reshape the ground so water runs where it should and the surface is ready for whatever comes next.
Our crew reads the whole property before a single blade touches the soil — where the water comes from, where it needs to go, and how the finished yard should sit. Then we cut, fill and compact until the elevations are right, checking the finish with a laser so it is level and true, not just eyeballed.

What’s included
Everything this service covers
Building & pad prep
Level, compacted pads for homes, additions, sheds, garages and outbuildings — set to the elevation your build requires.
Slope & swale shaping
Reworking grades away from the foundation and cutting shallow swales that carry runoff around the yard instead of through it.
Rough & finish grading
From heavy earth-moving down to the smooth, raked finish a lawn, driveway or patio base needs.
Driveway & gravel base
Grading and compacting sub-base for gravel and paved drives so they shed water and stop washing out.
How it works
A straightforward path, start to finish
- 01
Walk the property
We look at how water moves across your land today and talk through how you want to use the space, then map the elevations that get you there.
- 02
Cut and fill
Using compact track loaders and box blades, we move soil from the high spots to the low ones and haul off any excess.
- 03
Compact in lifts
We build up fill in layers and compact each one so the finished pad or yard stays firm and does not settle later.
- 04
Laser-check the finish
A final laser pass confirms every elevation drains correctly before we hand the surface off for sod, gravel or a patio base.
Questions
Good to know
Still wondering about something? Call or text (678) 662-3834 and we’ll talk it through.
- Will grading fix my drainage problem on its own?
- Often it is most of the fix. Reshaping the grade so water flows away from the house solves many wet-yard issues outright. When the water still needs somewhere to go, we pair grading with a French drain or catch basin.
- Do you handle the red Georgia clay?
- Yes — it is most of what we work in. Clay compacts hard and drains slowly, so we grade it with the right slope and, where a lawn is going in, blend in topsoil so grass can actually root.
- How long does grading take?
- A typical residential yard is one to three days depending on how much soil has to move and how much shaping the site needs. We give you a firm timeline in the estimate.
- Do I need to do anything before you start?
- Just mark any private lines — irrigation, invisible fence, low-voltage lighting. We handle the 811 public utility locate before we dig.
