Landscaping & Grading in Cumming, GA

Forsyth County is where a lot of our work starts on bare dirt. New-build lots, slope regrades and full backyard builds — we take Cumming clay from rough graded to finished and planted.

Cumming, GA

Landscaping built for Cumming

Cumming has been building fast, and a new house rarely comes with a finished yard. More often it comes with a compacted, rutted lot of red clay, a rough grade the builder walked away from, and water that has nowhere good to go. That is exactly the kind of blank slate we like.

We handle the whole progression here — establishing the grade so the lot drains, solving the water before it reaches the foundation, then sod, beds and hardscape on top. One crew carries it from bare earth to a backyard you actually want to use, without juggling three different contractors.

On the ground

We know how Cumming land behaves

Forsyth's newer subdivisions sit on heavily worked clay that sheds water fast and roots grass slowly. We grade for real drainage first and amend the soil before any sod goes down, so the lawn takes instead of washing out on the first hard summer storm.

Cumming questions

Good to know

Have a Cumming project in mind? Call or text (678) 662-3834 and we’ll talk it through.

Do you finish yards for brand-new homes in Cumming?
Constantly — it is one of the most common jobs we take in Forsyth County. Builders leave the lot rough-graded at best, and we pick it up from there: final grade, drainage, sod, beds and hardscape.
My new lot is all hard red clay. Will grass even grow?
It will, but not if sod is thrown straight onto compacted clay. We loosen and amend the soil and set the grade to drain first, which is why our lawns root in instead of sitting in a bathtub.
Can you regrade a steep or sloped lot?
Yes. A lot of Forsyth's newer sections are on hillsides. We cut, fill and terrace where needed and add drainage so the slope stays put and stays usable.
Do you charge extra to travel to Cumming?
No. Cumming is one of our core markets — there are no travel surcharges for Forsyth County.
